“Well first things first I must mention Tony Beckingham & Ken Thurgood for putting together an excellent 32 man squad here. Thanks to them, and I have learnt a lot from those guys. The ethos was very much playing well, you'll get a chance, this has motivated the entire squad and winning does that as well. I really believe that every player has participated in the 1st & 2nd team seasons. And what a season it has been!
At this level of football it's so important to keep everyone involved, motivated, and give them a chance when they're doing well. It has made everyone give their best.
I would also like to thank Kevin, who was with me earlier in the season, for all his hard work.
Of course I'd like to thank Billy Hughes for keeping things going so well, and supporting things as we were, giving players a chance too. When I took on the role the first thing I said was it was my job to bring through some players, even if it's only one or two. With the likes of Chick, Hatt, Bedford & Highwood coming through I feel if a club runs like we have it can only breed success.
A Special thanks to Ray Tolfrey for everything off the pitch that is a big part of what's special here.
And thanks to Ray Miles, since he has come in it's been excellent. He has invaluable experience and he has brought that and more to the set up.
At Holmesdale we are fortunate because this club has lots of good young players, if we can keep the structure as it is we have a real bright future. We want to continue to support the 1st team well. That's my job and a real sense of pride. If I help these guys fulfil their potential then that is the key for me.
I want to congratulate all the squad, Ray and I are proud of them. I can see some of them breaking through and I want to encourage them all to work hard so they can do that, I believe in them, all of them.
Axell, Highwood, Dean, Tutt and Wells to name but a few. Steadman recently got called up and got man of the match in a victory for the 1st, superb. That's why I say there's a bright future.
Faversham away was one of our highlights, when you can go to a place like that and they had 9 first team squad players yet we won 4-1 it's tremendous. We are unbeaten as well that says a lot.
And now we have won the title it's been a fantastic experience for me as a young manager, well done and thank you everyone and too my family for their support.
Whatever the future holds, who knows, I tell you I'm yellow & green so I want to be working for this club and build on what we have achieved.“
