Holmesdale started the Premier League
Cup campaign with a win at home to Slade Green, the Dalers are placed in Group D in which they will
also face tough home and away trips to Beckenham Town and Hythe Town.
Holmesdale started the brighter of the two teams which was quite surprising as the Dalers had to make several changes due to injuries and suspensions.
On loan signing Alex Hill (Whyteleafe) started
the game on the left flank and had the first
effort on goal on 3 minutes with a left foot
volley that sailed just over the bar.
After 7 minutes a free kick by Hill was met
at the near post by Broome to head home, 1-0.
10 minutes in and Slade Green had a free kick just outside the box which was well saved by Mitchell in goal.
After 20 minutes a corner by Baker was headed in by Bushell for his first of the season, 2-0.
The remainder of the game was played
in a competitive manner with both teams cancelling each other out until just before full time Slade Green hit a great shot on target but Mitchell managed to tip it over the bar for the game to finish 2-0 to the Dalers.
A better performance all round, but with still six first teamers out injured its going to be tough few weeks ahead, next Saturday
away to Tunbridge Wells.
