The Dalers had a day off from
Kent League Duties and travelled down to the far side of Kent, to the home of Lydd Town, a ground that with a few additions
would not go amiss in the Kent League, the pitch was as good and if not better than some we have played on this season (including
our own).
The Dalers are starting to get
a more settled squad, but with still 10 players out injured there is still more room for improvement.
To keep things brief, in the
first half the Dalers dominated the play creating numerous chances to score, but had to wait until the 35th minute
for Broome to head home from a McDiarmid cross, a move that started from the back playing short passes through the Lydd formation
that ended with an excellent finish by Broome.
1-0
at half time, it should have really been 5 or 6, poor finishing, and good defending kept the score line
down.
The second half started very
much the same with the Dalers controlling the play, but again they had to wait until the 70th min for McDiarmid
to finish off a great run into the box with a low drive into the right hand corner.
The Dalers kept up the pressure
and McDiarmid scored two more in the 80th and 89th minute, the latter a cool chip from an acute angle
to finish the game off.
4-0 was probably a score line
that did not reflect the game, but the positives were that the Dalers played some good creative football that lacked the final
finish, I wonder what they will be doing in training this week!!!!
The Dalers can look forward
to a home tie against Oakwood or Tudor Sports on the 1st December in the next round.
