Further Defeat For Resolute Dalers
Saturday 21th November 2009Herne Bay came out on top with a 1-0 win through substitute Michael Jenner as Holmesdale suffered a further league defeat.
It was surprising that only one goal separated the sides as both keepers prevented the score from being at least 4-4.
It wasn't until the 88th minute that the dead lock was to be broken when Jenner drove the ball low towards the bottom corner and past Holmesdale keeper Jamie Williams.
The coming weekend sees Holmesdale's first home fixture in over a month as they entertain visitors Deal Town in a 2:00PM kick-off.
Town Take The Points
Saturday 21th November 2009Holmesdale's Reserves suffered further defeat as they travelled to Chatham Town.
Chatham picked up the points with a 2-0 win which sees Holmesdale drop down to 10th place, one spot of the bottom.
With no weekend fixture Holmesdale's next outing is to Erith and Belvedere on Monday 30th.
Last Minute Goal Gives Town The Points
Saturday 14th November 2009Holmesdale travelled to Sevenoaks in one of the few matches that wasn't lost to the weather.
Billy Shinners put Town in front after 58th minutes before former Sevenoak's striker Tony Atkins headed Holmesdale level with 12 minutes to play.
Holmesdale's goal came after a fantastic burst down the left from Badar Mohammed with his cross met by Atkin's diving header.
With virtually the last kick of the ball Joe Creasey fired a long range effort which keeper Chirs Arnold fumbled to see the ball roll agonisingly over the line.
Holmesdale's next outing is to fourth placed Herne Bay on Saturday 21st November.
Points Out Of Reach At Reachfields
Saturday 7th November 2009Holmesdale made their third consecutive trip to the south coast, this time to Hythe Town's Reachfields Stadium.
The home side looked most likely to open the scoring when Yianni fired a cross across the Holmesdale six yard box.
After 25 minutes Hythe took the lead as Holmesdale failed to clear a long throw-in and Kieran Byrne fired in from six yards out.
Three second half goals in five minutes put the finishing touches to Hythe's victory with a goals from Cook (83), Boxer (86) and Yianni (88).
Next weekend Holmesdale take the short trip to Sevenoaks Town who currently sit in 5th place in the league.
Win For Whitstable
Saturday 7th November 2009Holmesdale's 2nd XI suffered their third consecutive league defeat in an eight goal battle with Whitstable Town.
Whitstable were 2-0 up before The Daler's were awarded a penalty which Steven Strotten converted for 2-1.
Whitstable lead into the break and carried a 3-1 lead into the second half.
The home side scored first to give them a 4-1 lead.
Strotten then found the net again to secure a brace before Whitstable made it 5-2.
Holmesdale's Casey Jones brought it back to 5-3 before Steven Strotten missed the chance for a hat trick from the penalty spot.
With next weekends match against Dartford postponed, Holmesdale's next fixture will be on Saturday 21st November at Chatham Town.
Cup Win For U18's
Thursday 5th November 2009Holmesdale have gone through to the next round of the League Cup after a solid second half performance against Oakwood FC U18.
Oakwood opened the scoring after 20 minutes and looked to dominate the game throughout, but after some lack of concentration and a slip up by their keeper. Zak Guest followed a dropped ball and managed to level just before half time.
The second half was a one team show with Holmesdale scoring early on with a super run by Connie Atille to make it 1-2 , followed by shot after shot from Holmesdale, hitting the crossbar twice and the post once.
Holmesdale move on to play either Camberley or Cove FC.
